CLUB PATRON TYPIFIES FALCONS CHARACTER
The West Perth Football Club would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge David Elsegood, our Patron for the 2013 and 2014 seasons. It has been a successful patronage for David, with a League Premiership in 2013 and a Reserves Premiership in 2014, as well as many successes and positive outcomes off the field.
David, who is also a Life Member of the Falcons, was awarded Patronage as acknowledgement for his significant contribution to the Club dating back to the Leederville days. He has been a passionate supporter of the West Perth Football Club from a young age and use to frequent "the hill" at Leederville Oval with his father to watch his beloved Cardinals.
After starting his business Combined Metal Industries in 1985, David was able to support the Club by providing resources such as sheetmetal work to save costs for work to be done around the club, and he has continued to do so. With CMI going from strength to strength, he has also been in a position to provide financial support to the Club and has done so since the early 90's.
Throughout his role on the Board of Directors from 1996 - 1998, David was heavily involved in Junior Development, an area that he was very passionate about as it contributed to the future viability of football in the region. His hard work in this area has stood the Club in very good stead, as we currently enjoy a strong District presence and a great relationship between Club and District.
President Brett Raponi said of David: "I think that the key to David’s association with the Club has always be that he has expected nothing in return for his contributions, other than to see the Club continue to flourish and to help ensure the Club's success and viability into the future. David is an incredibly proud member and promoter of the West Perth Football Club and of local football, and I have no doubt that he will continue to support the Club for many years to come."
The West Perth Football Club is privileged to have the support of people with the stature and character of David Elsegood and our Club is a better place for it. We sincerely thank David and his family for their long-standing support of our Club and look forward to sharing many more years of success, well into the future.
