WAFC Year 8 and 9 Boys Cup 2012

The WAFC Year 8 and 9 Schoolboys Cup, previously known as the 'Smarter than Smoking' Cup is set to kick off again in 2012. The competition will run in a seven week round robin competition including ten senior high schools from the West Perth Football District battling it out to take out the title of West Perth Metro Champions. This team will then go on to play against the winner of the West Perth Country Carnival Champions. With the competition being determined in the final weeks of play in both 2010 and 2011, we are set to see some great battles to claim top spot on the ladder in 2012. In 2012, we also see a new format for the compeition with all ten nominated schools playing in one division to ensure maximum game time for school players.

AFL School Ambassador Induction and PD 2012

The WA Football Districts have a successful relationship with the schools in their area, providing AFL clinics, school based competitions such as the Eagles Cup and Dockers Shield, as well as classroom based curriculum activities such as Design-a-Jumper and AFL Quiz, free of charge.

Ambassadors Honoured in Night of Nights.

Friday 12th August saw Western Australia’s top AFL School Ambassadors honoured in a night of ‘magic’ at Paterson’s Stadium. The awards recognised outstanding work throughout the 2011 School year as well as honouring all School Competition winners.
