Applications are now open for students wishing to apply for specialist Australian Football Studies at Wanneroo Senior High School for 2011.

On the 17th on November approximately 90 Year 8 and Year 9 schoolgirls from within the West Perth District participated in the Smarter than Smoking Year 8/9 Schoolgirls Carnival. Wanneroo SHS, St Stephens Carramar and Lake Joondalup Baptist College students all took the chance to test their football skills against each other.

The Wanneroo Senior High School Specialist Australian Football program has concluded the 2009 season on a high with all students participating in Grand Final week activities. This included ‘Football Friday’ where students were able to show support for their favourite teams and were free dress to school for the day and the inaugural All Stars game held on the upgraded school football oval.

The Specialist Football Course at Wanneroo Senior High School provides students with a passion for the game, the opportunity to develop football skills as a part of a recreational or career pathway. Australian Rules Football is one of the most popular winter sports played by both men and, increasingly women. As such, the course welcomes both boys and girls. Many young people come to the course with a background in football through playing with local clubs.
