KEUNEN, STRIJK RECEIVE LIFE MEMBERSHIP

THE West Perth Football Club ended 2015 by presenting two premiership stars with life membership at the Annual General Meeting on Wednesday December 16.

Andrew Strijk and Chris Keunen both played their 150th game for West Perth during the 2015 season to become eligible for life membership.

Their life memberships were confirmed at the AGM with the pair presented with the prestigious honour to bring to an end 2015.

West Perth co-captain Luke Tedesco who is also a 2013 premiership teammate to the pair spoke at length about both Strijk and Keunen, and the trio's journey together with the Falcons.

Tedesco then presented the pair with their life members medallions.

Keunen arrived at West Perth in 2006 from Victoria. After several seasons where he was locked in battle with the likes of Darren Atkinson, Mitch Andrews, Mark Seaby and Robert Warnock, he emerged as the No. 1 ruckman for the Falcons in 2011 where he has remained since.

The 32-year-old ended 2015 having played 172 games, kicked 53 goals, having played in the 2013 premiership and represented Western Australia in a state game victory over the NEAFL in Sydney in 2014.

Strijk made his league debut for West Perth in 2006 and ever since has been one of the best and most damaging players in the WAFL whether playing across half-forward, off half-back or on the wing.

His ability to run and carry the ball, and to kick long and accurately have become a trademark for the 28-year-old who has now played 170 games and kicked 153 goals for the Falcons.

Strijk is a 2013 premiership player, four-time state representative, a Breckler Medallist and also played 13 games with the West Coast Eagles in the AFL.

Both Strijk and Keunen are currently taking part in West Perth's pre-season training program with an eye to continuing their decorated careers in 2016.
