BRADLEY, LOUREY STRENGTHEN FALCONS BIG MEN STOCKS

WEST Perth's big men stocks for the 2015 WAFL season have been significantly boosted with the signing of VFL centre half-forward Michael Lourey and the return of premiership star Kepler Bradley.

With Lourey to settle a spot in the forward-line and Bradley able to play forward, back or in the ruck, it gives West Perth plenty of options with its big men in 2015 with Marcus Adams and Nick Rodda proven young key position players at either end along with Chris Keunen and Seva Martin in the ruck.

Following the retirements of champion pair Dan Hunt and Anthony Tsalikis, West Perth was on the hunt for some more key position players and now that is exactly what Lourey and Bradley provide to coach Bill Monaghan.

A potential forward-line made up of Lourey, Bradley, Rodda, Adams, Matt Fowler, Matt Johnson, Steve Potente, Marc Crisp, Kody Manning and Kris Shannon is now an exciting one for West Perth heading towards 2015.

It also gives Monaghan the flexibility to use Bradley, Rodda, Adams, Potente, Manning and Shannon either down back or through the middle without feeling as though he is leaving the forward-line a little bare.

Bradley made his league debut with West Perth back in 2003 when he became a premiership player before being drafted to Essendon with pick No. 6 in the National Draft.

He went on to play 49 games with the Bombers before being traded to Fremantle in 2008 which in turn meant he played with West Perth again while not with the Dockers.

He played 11 games with the Falcons in 2008, three in 2009, six in 2010, three in 2011 and then five in 2012 before undergoing a knee reconstruction in 2013 and then playing his 13 WAFL matches of 2014 with Peel Thunder.

While he didn’t make it back to play another AFL game post his knee reconstruction, Bradley ended up playing 68 matches with Fremantle to take his tally overall to 117.

He has played 46 WAFL matches, 33 of which are with West Perth, and the 28-year-old now returns to West Perth in 2015 looking to replicate the success he was part of in 2003, and missed out on being part of in 2013.

Lourey, meanwhile, arrives at West Perth from the VFL with the reputation as a proven goalkicker, and a strong working and hard leading centre half-forward.

The 24-year-old spent two seasons in the VFL with Sandringham and most recently has been playing with standalone club Frankston, and over the course of 70 games between both teams he has kicked 141 goals.

Lourey also represented the VFL against the WAFL in Northam last year where he kicked two goals in Victoria's loss to Western Australia.

Lourey is coming off a strong 2014 season with Frankston where he kicked 36 goals from 16 matches including a haul of six against Geelong, a bag of five against Werribee and three more separate four goal performances.

Lourey is due to get married to fiancée Liz in December and will be moving to Perth in the first week of January when he will begin training with the Falcons.

However, he has a brother living in Perth and has a training program already in place from strength and conditioning coach Craig Soley until he arrives in Perth.
