On Wednesday 22nd June, the West Perth District held their annual Dockers Cup Carnival at Arena Joondalup for primary school aged girls within the District.
In 2011 we had a large increase in competing schools from having only 3 schools competing in 2010 to 7 schools in 2011. Schools that competed were: East Butler Primary, Butler Primary, Joondalup Primary, Kinross College, Poseidon Primary, Quinns Rocks and Quinns Beach with over 140 girls taking part in the round robin competition.
The West Perth District would like to extend their thanks to Justin Burt and the students at Wanneroo SHS who came to umpire on the day, providing Field, Boundary and Goal Umpires for all fixture games as well as providing coaching assistance where required.
After a fierce competition throughout the 7 rounds, Joondalup Primary School came out victorious, finishing undefeated.
Development Officer Megan O’Mara is hopeful that the growth seen in this competition will continue in Female Football within the West Perth District across all age groups and continue to provide the Joondalup Women’s Football Club with an array of talent to choose from in the senior competition.
